Lost Sea Opals has been created by Australian jeweller and designer Jo Lindsay. Her designs are inspired by the vivid colour and beauty of the gemstones around her.
Jo has been commissioned to design pieces for the fabulous and famous. Her work has graced the cuffs of a US President and her pieces have adorned red carpet appearances at the academy awards and catwalks at international fashion shows.

Based in Lightning Ridge, Australia, the wide choice of opal colour and pattern available means Jo is able to obtain the balance of gem material with metals selected specially to fully enhance her statement pieces.
Black Opal is named for its naturally occurring layers of black and coloured opal, with the top layer of vivid colour being intensified by the dark layer beneath. This rare phenomenon results in a stone of unequalled colour and pattern.
In addition to opals- diamonds, pearls and other gems are used regularly in Jo Lindsay’s work. Her designs are underpinned by her strict trade-based work ethic and traditional artisan standards. Structural integrity is an intrinsic part of every one of Jo’s designs ensuring the longevity and wearability of each and every finished jewellery piece.
Heating and quenching of hot metals, piercing, beating and bending are all part of the process that can be observed in our showroom workshop. The detailed and painstaking finishing disciplines that follow ensure the light reflects from the jewellery with just the right balance, to allow the full beauty of the piece to be appreciated.
